Transformation

What a beautiful example of transformative ART!

In San Antonio, Texas, a duo of artists created a community gathering space with the installation of elegant chandeliers built out of recycled bicycle parts, transforming a dingy, dark freeway underpass into a rather charming space.

"This is my most important role. If I fail at this, I fail at everything"

Happy Fathers Day!! I would like to honor all those awesome Dad's, who provide support, guidance, love, and wisdom to their children, both young and old.  Here is some of my favorite "Father" moments from our Free Art Making adventures and some really cool quintessential quotes about Fatherhood

“Do I want to be a hero to my son? No. I would like to be a very real human being. That’s hard enough.

"Fatherhood is the best thing I ever did. It changes your perspective.
You can write a book, you can make a movie, you can paint a painting, but having kids is really the most extraordinary thing I have taken on."

"When it comes to parenthood everyone thinks they will be terrible at it. We don't think we have it in us. Then you find out that you do, which truly is a miracle in life."

Love this one. In San Francisco at the Summer Learning Day 2012.
Do you have a favorite moment of sharing ART with your Pa?
We would love to hear your stories.

Are There ARTbreak Day Elves?

Do you ever wonder who makes all those ART in Your Pockets for ARTbreak Day?
Do they just magically appear?
Is it the ARTbreak Day Elves?

Or is it a very smart talking cat that makes all those Art in Your Pockets?.
ARTbreak Day is a totally FREE community ARTreach event for absolutely everyone. And to cap all that FREE HeaRT, we also give away a boat load of FREE ART in Your Pockets to go.  Why? so folks can do/create ART anywhere and everywhere. If you have not noticed, Lauren and I at Art is Moving are on pretty altruistic mission.

Art in your Pocket Production Line

For ARTbrek Day 2013 we have to create a  a total of 1400 Art in Your Pockets. Each AIYP is individually hand stamped and assembled. Basically each one is a one of kind Free Art making tool to create ART anywhere you need to. For example if you need to be creatively saved at Jury Duty or the DVM. Each one these cute little guys takes at least ten to fifteen minutes to make. Depending how much of a machine I am that day. I think Lauren has the process down pat. Over the past two years we have handed out over  3000.

Yesterday I began the process.  Hand stamping the front side with our logo. This year Lauren and I each have to pump out 700 of these puppies.  I think I just stamped around 200. Today is another day.  I will document my process.  Music and Sake are always good companions to the assembly line.

We do have grand ART Interventions visions for Art in Your Pocket. Keep on the look out
Become an ART Angel or an Elf today and contribute to our ARTbreak Day  campaign.

Basically we have eight days left to raise 7,000 buckaroos. It really takes a village of ART Elves,  uberly generous ART Angels, ART Cats,  ART Dogs (that is for you Neko) a stellar group of 14 Artist in Residence, a boat load of Volunteers, and two very passionate AIM Artists to make ARTbreak Day come into reality.

We appreciate all your positive energy and support for ARTbreak Day. Click HERE to donate.
